Food-cakes

For a carnival birthday.  I did them as food...popcorn, burgers & milkshakes.

Princess Cake

I did this cake last month for the first birthday of Princess Kara!

Bowling for Cake

These two cakes were for my niece's 10th birthday...a bowling party of course!

Darth birthday cake

This one was done for an avid Star Wars fan for his 5th birthday!

Bandana cake

This is a two tier cake for a little cowgirls birthday! Hot pink with a bandana print and an edible badge with the birthday girl's name on it!

Wedding cake

This cake was done for a beautiful bride.  Carrot cake with a creamy ivory frosting and decorated with fresh flowers.

Camo

This camo cake was for a one year old boy's birthday party.  The 'smash' cake was done with a little deer and his name!

If the shoe fits...

A lovely simple cake for a 30th birthday girl's party.  And she loves shoes.

Couple's party cake

For a couple celebrating their upcoming nuptuals.  He works as a jailer so the "lockdown" theme was very appropriate.  The ball and chain, handcuffs and key are all edible.

Buried Treasure!

This cake was done for a little boy's pirate themed birthday party.

Hawaiian birthday

This cake was done for a sweet sixteen year old who was having a tropical themed party.

Graduation

This was a cake done for a special graduate.

Circus/Carousel

This was for a girl turning two.  The party theme was circus, but they wanted the cake to be a carousel.

Mario Kart Cake

A cake for a couple of big Mario Kart fans.  Everything is edible except the "finish-line-checkered-flag" sign with the birthday boys' names on it.

Ghillie suit

For the hunter or sniper in your life ;)  This cake is layers of chocolate with buttercream filling.  It is covered with fondant made to resemble the camouflage shreds of a Ghillie suit.

Seashell cake

a small cake for an intimate gathering.

Currency Cake

This cake was done for the birthday party of a banker.

Cowboy baby

This little cake was done as a gift for a new mommy!  Her little guy was destined to be a cowboy.

Curious George

This is my very first cake ever. It was for my son's first birthday and the party was Curious George themed.  I decided to make the cake in the shape of a hat.  Not just any hat, but the Yellow Hat (as in the man in the yellow hat)!

Toy Story Cake

This is a three tier cake done in the theme of the Toy Story movies (both 1 &2).  I bought the little figurines so I chose a couple of background patterns (the stars and clouds) and the ever present 'ball' for the cake.  The bottom tier is chocolate, the middle tier is chocolate and vanilla, the top tier which is the ball is vanilla.

Tractor Cake

This cake was done for a little guy's 4th birthday.

Lettering

These letters were also part of the Tractor cake.  They can be done in any color for any cake.  The wires can adjust in length to add height and to stagger the rows of lettering as I've done here.   They do not add to the cost of the cake.  It would be included with cake and can be made to say (almost) anything.

Harvest Items

These elements were made for the Tractor cake above.  The tractor pulled a trailer behind it with bales of hay, pumpkins, a bushel of apples and a present on it.  They are all completely edible.  Any of these types of items can be made to add that little something extra to any kind of cake.

Viva Las Vegas

This cake was made for a 30th birthday party.  The wife was surprising the husband with a trip to Las Vegas and he didn't know until the cake was wheeled out.  It was surrounded by edible poker chips and printed showgirls, but those were added right before the presentation and my pictures were too dark to show here.  If I get some better ones, I'll post them later.

Piano Cake

This cake was made for a woman who was retiring from a local church after 50 years of being the pianist.

Yo Gabba Gabba!

For my niece's first birthday, her parents (and big sister) wanted a Yo Gabba Gabba! theme since she loves that show.  It was a five layer (chocolate, vanilla AND strawberry) covered in yummy buttercream and fondant and each side was decorated like the shows background sets.  On the top was the Yo Gabba Gabba logo but it said "Yo Ava Ava!" instead since that is the birthday girl's name.

Butterflies and bees

A seven year old birthday girl requested this cake.  It was decorated with royal icing 'grass', flowers, bees, ladybugs and butterflies to match the color scheme of the party plates.

Hot Pink & Zebra

This cake was done for an eleven year old's birthday gathering.   It was a deep hot pink color with black zebra striping all over.   Letters in hot pink with sparkle dust spelling out the birthday girl's name were added upon delivery. They "floated" over the cake (on wires coming out of the cake).

Animal Topper

This darling Giraffe and Tiger were made as toppers for the cake listed below.  They are made of fondant and each tiny detail is added by hand.

Ryder's Animal Cake

This cake was made to match the invitation for a special boy's first birthday.  The stripes/writing/colors are from the invite.  The animals were added by request since they would be part of the decorations.

Birthday Cake

This cake was done as a 29th birthday cake for a spunky gal that I know and love.  She loves hot pink and is just insanely cute.

Frog Pond

This is a closer view of the cake featured in the following post.  A frog pond was the base and features lily pads, water lillies, rocks, and frogs...all handcrafted and edible.

Angel Overlooking Frog Pond

This cake was done for a very special reason.   A girl that I grew up with, named Sarah, passed away last year.  Her mother and her daughter requested this cake for her birthday.  Sarah collected frogs-hence the frog pond.  They also wanted some special figurines to represent Sarah and her daughter, Nattie.  Doing this cake was so precious to me and I will cherish the opportunity always.

Slumber party Cake

This was made for a slumber party themed birthday for a 7 year old. The birthday girl loves Junie B. Jones books, so that is what the book on her bed says. There are little slippers on the 'floor' next to it and her initial embossed into the headboard.  All completely edible. The hair and skin tone were made to match the birthday girl.

Back To School

This cake was done as a "thank you" for the transportation dept of a local school district.

Hula Girl Cake

This small cake was done as a personal cake for a little girl's Hula themed party.

Texas Rangers Cake

This cake was made for a community club luncheon. They had a member of the Texas Ranger's baseball team as an honored guest and this cake was done in that theme.

Tropical Wedding

This cake was done for a couple who had a destination wedding in Hawaii and then a reception for family and friends back at home. The groom designed the cake features. The pair of turtles, the crossed palm trees, the pink plumeria flowers and the "his/hers" flip flops were all significant to the couple.

Zebra Cake

This zebra cake accented with hot pink was designed/made for the ribbon cutting ceremony of a florist shop. It can be replicated or done in any color scheme.

Cowgirl Natalie Cake

Yee Haw!!! This cake was done for a dear friend's birthday. A Texas gal to the bone, she loves all things 'cowgirl'. The bottom is a cow hide pattern with a "lead rope" trim around the base. The middle section is a pink bandana tied 'bandit' style. The top layer is blue jeans w/ belt buckle. The topper is a little boot with the birthday girl's initial embossed on the side. (hard to tell all the detail from this pic)
